Make sure the setting in the “Device ID” section of the Patch Base JP-8080 editor matches the Device ID currently set on your JP-8080. You can find that setting by clicking the “Edit” button, then 5/MIDI until you see “Device ID” on your JP-8080's screen.
Please note that the Backup editor/function in Patch Base does not back up your Internal Motion Data. Only System/Global, Patches, and Performances data are saved in the Backup. If a full backup is needed including Motion Data, use a sysex recording app with the JP-8080's Bulk Dump operation instead.
